INSPIRING DAILY DEVOTIONAL ® … Prayer can boost your confidence

Text(s) for today:  Read 1 Sam. 1:1 – 20, 4:23 – 31.

“… She (Hannah) was deeply distressed and she cried bitterly as she prayed to the LORD … Then she went away, ate some food, and was no longer sad.” 1 Sam. 1:10, 18 GNB

It’s amazing what prayer does to us. Hannah was a woman of great sorrow. She was often taunted by her rival because she was barren and that was the cause of her sorrow.

The story we just read tells us that year after year when she went to the house of God she cried bitterly (because of the persistent taunting) but nothing changed until she prayed! Before the results (the baby) even came, she was already confident. All the sorrow had disappeared!

Prayer makes you confident. Perhaps you’ve been timid for a long time. I want to recommend prayer to you. Engage in consistent prayers and receive boldness from God.

In Acts 4, Bible tells us of how the early Christians were threatened and how they received boldness from the Lord for what they wanted to do. Bible tells us that the boldness only came after they had prayed (v31).

No need to walk in fear, sorrow and timidity any more. There is an antidote for that: prayer. Employ this antidote in your life and see yourself become what God called you to be. Remember,  fear is bondage (Rom. 8:15). It limits your freedom and that is not your portion (2 Tim. 1:17).

So go ahead, and stir up boldness through the power of prayer. You’ll never live a day of your life again in cowardice as you apply yourself to prayers regularly. God bless you.

Prayer & Confessions  (pray out loudly)

Lord I thank for the boldness that is released in prayer. I declare in the name of  Jesus that timidity is no longer my portion. I walk in boldness because your Spirit enables me, amen.
