INSPIRING DAILY DEVOTIONAL ® … Speak words of faith

Texts for today: Read Matt.19:26, Mark 9:23, Neh 2:19-20

“Then answered them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, He will prosper us, therefore we his servants will arise and build.” Neh 2:20KJV.

Do you ever find yourself encountering oppositions in what you do?

You can’t do it’, ‘It is not possible’ are perhaps just two of several phrases you have heard from people.

Some even go ahead and mock the efforts you put into your project, especially as your project experiences one form of challenge or the other.

For many, these kind of words discourage them and many back out of their projects.

Indeed, you may not be able to stop those folks from such utterances, but you can (and should) determine its influence on your life and the project. How? Let’s look at it.

Those utterances are utterances of fear (faithlessness in God). When they speak those words to you, you must also speak words of faith – it’s that simple but it works!.

.Nehemiah (and his fellow Israelites) decided to embark on a project dear to them – to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. In this narrative from the Book of Nehemiah, he tells us

’but when Sanballat… and Tobiah… and Geshem, heard it they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said,’ what is this thing that ye do? …’

Then answered I them, and said unto them,’ The God of heaven, He will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build”. (Neh.2:19-20KJV).Praise God!

You see, that’s how to deal with oppositions of this nature; you speak words of faith that will counteract the devilish, fear-filled words.

So when they talk to you down, talk yourself up. Their words are not more powerful than yours. If their words can make someone discouraged, then your words can surely bring encouragement.

So go ahead, refuse to be discouraged. Carry on with your business. Don’t forget that with this God of heaven, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. Praise God!

Prayer & Confessions (pray out loudly)

In the name of the Lord Jesus, my words are not ordinary. My words are filled with possibilities: for there is nothing I cannot do (Phil. 4:13). Evil utterances do not discourage me. My words encourage many. Praise God!
